Bun in the Oven – Tampa Maternity Photos

I looked out of the studio and giggled as I saw Trisha and Dan strolling up for their maternity portrait session. Dan had his shirts all neatly folded over his arm and Trisha rolled a huge suitcase behind her. I could only imagine the goodies she had inside for us to photograph her and her beautiful (and oh so tiny) belly in! We all laughed and I assured them that this is what every expecting mom brings to her maternity session (ok, so maybe the suitcase is more an overnight style bag ). I was thrilled to see all of the fun stuff that she pulled out, Dan just laughed and rolled with it. Trisha is a stylist at Salon Lofts in South Tampa and has a definite sense of style. Dan owns Memorabilia Magic on Willow Ave in South Tampa (Pete is so jealous!). Here are some of my faves:I loved photographing your maternity session, Trisha and Dan. It seems like I was just photographing Sophia’s newborn portraits- and now she is going to be a big sister. And she cannot be more thrilled! (And if her baby sister is as much fun to photograph as she is, I am in for a treat!) Take a peek at Claudine and Sophia’s recent maternity session at my studio.

Awaiting “The Evil Queen” – Tampa Newborn Photos

Or at least that is how her big brother, Logan, refers to her. He doesn’t mean anything mean by it. You see, he is 3, and Disney is his most favorite place in the whole, wide world. So it is appropriate that he refer to his baby sister as “The Evil Queen”, right? For the rest of us, we will call her Layne. Though I will call her Laynie. After all, I call her mom, Bud- and have done so since the 10th grade. Long story, but it has stuck and that is how we still refer to each other. Vicky and I have been best friends since elementary school. Though we went to separate colleges (myself to the University of Florida for undergrad and the University of South Florida for graduate school) and her to Florida Atlantic University for undergrad and “that other state university” for graduate school), our paths brought us both to Tampa Bay, and to 7 houses away from each other. Our husbands have even become the best of friends, too (and we often talk about how much it would stink if they did not get along! ) We were the maids-of-honor in each others weddings, in each other’s delivery rooms for the births of our children, and soon I will get to do it again as Vicky and Adam welcome their daughter into the world next month. Here are some of my faves from their recent maternity session at my South Tampa studio. The last has to be my favorite…well, just because that is the epitome of a 3 year old- ha!

Bud, Adam, and Logie…I love you all with my whole heart and am so thrilled for you. Cannot wait to cuddle Laynie and share the love!

Tampa Maternity Photos of Jennifer + Bill!

Maternity portraits are among my favorite types of portraits to create. So often the mommies-to-be feel less than fabulous, and it is up to me to help them feel beautiful and celebrate their curves. I loved doing this with Jennifer and Bill. They are expecting their first baby, and are overwhelmed with joy and excitement! Funny side note….I consider myself to be pretty tall (about 5’9″ on a good day), but Jen and Bill and very tall! My studio ceiling is pitched but I kept catching it into my frame with many of my shots. Bill told me a funny story that I just had to share. While volunteering at a local elementary school, he overheard some young children talking as they walked past him. One said to the other “Is he a GIANT??”. HA! Out of the mouths of babes! Here is one more of the “giants” with me shooting from a stool.Can’t wait to photograph your baby girl, Jennifer and Bill! So happy for you!! Andi

Tampa Maternity Photo Shoot – Anticipation…

Maternity photography to me is such a treat! I love capturing a woman’s curves and beauty as she awaits with anxious anticipation the most exciting experience of her life. Heather simply glowed with a quite beauty. And we had alot to chat about, being that she too was a gymnast growing up. We probably even competed against each other back in the day! Ahh, to have my gymnast abs back again…but I digress- ha! Back to maternity portraits! Heather is so elegant- she truly radiates!Can’t wait to meet your new little bundle and capture your newborn portraits, Heather and Jay! Enjoy this special time- and try to go on a “baby moon” before the baby arrives- you will love it!

Tampa Maternity Photos – Don’t hate me because I’m beautiful…

I kept running that old commercial slogan through my head. Yes, I’ll admit- that is how I felt in Dan and Giselle’s maternity portrait session. But the truth is, Giselle is way too sweet to have anything but absolute love for her- and Dan LOVES her. It was so cute and mushy! She is so incredibly beautiful! And she felt very comfortable in front of my camera. I have discovered that many of my clients from South and Central America have a different respect for their bodies. They embrace their bodies- no matter how tiny or curvy they are. That is so nice to see. Here are some of my faves from their maternity shoot:

I had to laugh when Dan first called to set up their maternity session. He asked me, “You don’t really need me there…do you?” HA! Silly man! YES! I absolutely want you there! This is your time to shine, too! You are going to be a daddy for the first time- YES- I would love for you to be a part of this process. So he brought his book, thinking he was going to get out of it. Turns out he rocked the session…almost as much as Giselle!

I am so glad that I was able to capture your artwork of this special time in your life, Dan and Giselle.Â I cannot wait to photograph your baby!

Maternity Photos for Barbara and Andrew…Awaiting Baby Soon!

When I say soon….I mean soon- as in a few days from now Barbara and Andrew will be welcoming their first baby into the world! I had so much fun photographing their maternity session. There were plenty of laughs and wonderful moments to capture!Barbara looked so beautiful (and I know Andrew thought so, too!)Barbara brought the best clothes to their portrait session- I love cute shirts like this one……”With bump….not plump”. As no shocking surprise to my avid blog stalkers…I HEART maternity portrait sessions! LOVE them! Vicky’s maternity session was no exception. I love seeing a woman’s confidence transform right in front of me. I love seeing her insecurities melt as she embraces her incredible curves. Here are just a couple of my faves from Vicky’s maternity shoot:Vicky, you are a rockin’ hot mommy-to-be! I am thrilled that you decided to do this and honored that you chose Andi Diamond Photography! Cannot wait for you to see the rest! On a side note, thanks to all the moms (and 1 dad!! Way to represent, Rob! ha!) for coming to my workshop last night at Smarty Pants Kids Boutique! What a great class! It is well known that I HEART maternity portrait sessions.Â It is such a great way for me to get to know my clients as they celebrate this incrdible time in their lives.Â It allows the woman to celebrate her new found curves.Â It allows the hubby to celebrate the new founds cureves, too!Â Â Cristina and Thanye had to be the ultimate maternity session.Â The walked in with a suitcase full of clothes (ok…well, Cristina did!) and basically let me run with it!Â LOVE that!Â (And being that they both look like they belong on the cover of a fitness magaine did not hurt either!)Â Note to other maternity clients….this is NOT normal! ha!Â Do not feel intimidated!Â I wanted to hate them both (sheerly out of jealousy)…but the truth is I just adored them!Â Here are just a few of my faves!And you gotta love a hubby who wants to act as my assistant for the photo session.Â Love this pull-back shot.Â Thanks for your help, Thayne….need a part-time job??
