Our 10 Year Vow Renewal at Hammock Beach Resort

Ten years ago, on the rainiest day that Tampa has ever seen, I married my best friend. OK, so maybe it was not THE rainiest day- but to this bride it sure seemed that way. It was rainy enough to have our outside wedding moved to inside. Besides vowing marriage that day to the love of my life, I vowed that in ten years we would celebrate our vows with a renewal- and hopefully outside. We decided to have our vow renewal at a place that has become “our place”, the place we vacation every summer with some of our best friends and their families- Hammock Beach Resort in Palm Coast. We are blessed with such an amazing group of friends, that all of the details for our events came together in a spectacular way, all captured by one of my best friends from college, Kelly, of Pure Sugar Studios. (Kelly’s wedding was the first wedding I ever photographed several years ago when I was just a “newbie”. Needless to say, I think I got the better end of this deal! ha!) After photographing so many weddings myself, I knew there was so much that I could do with my details and decor to make it beautiful and unique. I chose a lemon and lavender theme, and used a ton of DIY elements. (more on this in another post where I will show how we created our centerpieces and what we did to save money). Of course, as this production started to grow and expand, Pete wondered why we could not have just gone to Bern’s for dinner. HA- silly man! Special thanks to Mavilo, South Tampa’s finest jeweler for the stunning bridal necklace. (Brides-to-be- make sure to check them out. Circle of Friends Reunion – Tampa Photographer Gives Back

It is that time of year again- the reunion trip for the Circle of Friends and I cannot wait! Every year we take children with cancer and blood disorders from all around the United States to Wausau, WI for a fun filled winter trip. And every other year we have a reunion trip with the kids from the previous 2 winter trips. This year it will be on St. Petersburg Beach. Pete and I are honored to be a part of this amazing organization for the past 10 years (I am especially proud of Pete who helped to organized the entire trip this summer)! The kids are beyond amazing and the experience for the adults may be even more rewarding than for the kids. Check out my diary for frequent updates as I am also the camp’s photographer. The Beach is Best with Family Photos in Tampa

We all have reasons for wanting to create family portraits. Maybe it is to capture a moment in time, to freeze the time and space during a special period in life, or to hold on to memories to keep them from fading away. For the C. Family, I think it was all of the above. It was very important to Lynda that she have family pictures at the place where here two children spent part of each summer, so I headed to Longboat Key (near Sarasota, FL). This time Lynda’s kids were bringing their children and spouses as well. Lynda’s 98 year old mother also joined us- and this gal does not look a day over 65- she is amazing! Here is a look at their session:

Holden’s Newborn Portrait Session – Pembroke Pines, FL

It was tenth grade, Child Care class at good ole’ Cooper City High School when Laurie and I first met- and the friendship was instant. High school drama, college drama, grown up drama- we have seen it all, been through it all, and lived it all together. When Laurie met Gary, we all knew he was the one- and we all wanted him to enter into our circle- and stay there. And he did. Now our circle has a new member- Holden, and we could not be more thrilled. I photographed Holden’s newborn portrait session when he was just 10 days old, at Laurie and Gary’s house in Pembroke Pines, Florida (just west of Ft. Lauderdale). And now as we all sit here celebrating the 4th of July in Boca Grande, I could not be happier that our high school drama has transcended into adulthood, where we can all watch each other’s children grow and spend holidays together, sipping cocktails at the beach. Tampa Family Portraits – Meet the J Family

Seriously….the J. family is always so polished and put together. It actually is not fair, and I guess I am a bit jealous- there I said it. Stomp, stomp. It probably has something to do with the fact that Jodi is the owner of Premier Concierge, a lifestyle management, planning and concierge service that provides work life balance assistance to clients in Tampa Bay and New York City. So yeah, she is always on top of her game, and Steven and the kids always appear to be, too. Oh, how I wish for such polish. Even in the blazing heat of Tampa’s summer, they don’t even appear to break a sweat. How is that possible? Check out their South Tampa photography session by Palma Ceia Golf and Country Club:
