We had so much fun at Spring Portrait Days at The Shoppes at Pink Cabana. Here are some of my favorite portraits of a few of the kids we photographed:Just look at these precious kids! I loved capturing their different personalities!Even with all the various ages, every kiddo completely rocked out their portrait session. Tampa Event Photos – Baby Loved Disco

I had a sneaking suspicion that Boo Baby Boo, the Halloween themed Baby Loves Disco held at Wiskey North on Sunday was going to be a blast- and it definitely was! I was thrilled to be the event photographer, meet new families, and watch Ethan and Pete have so much fun! A few hundred people showed up for the event and really helped to make the party a success. I think the owner of Wiskey North was surprised at how a group of kids could really rock his bar! Ha!There was a ton of fun things for the kids and parents to do…and even large plasma screens for football! Lots of hugs to Marissa and Candace for thinking of absolutely everything to make this event perfect (even hand sanitizing gel! I love that stuff!) Also, lots of love to these sponsors: Sweet and Sassy, Stroller Strides (big shouts out to Natalie!), The Red Elephant (we went there after the event for dinner- so fun! Not that I needed to eat another morsel!), Andi Diamond Photography (little pat on the back…), just to name a few!Not only was I able to capture fun details and excitement around the venue, but I had a mini portrait studio set up that allowed me to capture some beautiful images of the kids all decked out in their Halloween costumes, too! (Thanks to my assistant, Claudine, for keeping me sane! ha!)The finished slideshow will be posted here next week, along with a link to a gallery where you can purchase your images from Baby Loves Disco (and I am giving a huge break on image prices for Baby Loves Disco as our thank you!). Christmas in July! (Tampa Children’s and Family Photographer)

You asked for it, so here ya’ go!Â I have so many clients who are so good at preparing for the holiday rush, that a “Christmas in July” special seemed in order.Â It not only helps you, but it really helps me as the holiday season is typically my busiest time of year!Â If your children are over the age of 2, they won’t change that much between July and December, so why not take advantage of the savings and check a few items off your holiday to-do list early?

I have often wondered what it would be like to have siblings.Â I inherited 3 stepbrothers in 8th grade, 2 of whom were already grown and out of the house and 1 of whom was my age and lived with my dad.Â Though I love them dearly, I am sure it is not the same.Â The T. kids will never have to wonder about this.Â There are 3 of them!Â Here are just a few that we captured at a commercial shoot for Smarty Pants.Thanks for helping with the shoot T. family!Â Your children are precious!

Precious Bella….(Tampa Children’s Photographer)

Shy, sweet, kind, quite, smart, beautiful.Â In the short time I spent with Bella, these are just a few of the words that I learned to describe her (Am I right at all, Alphonsine??)Â I am huge fan of the “pensive” look.Â I think children’s eyes look so amazing when their faces are soft, and they are just “looking”; no forced smiles or cheesy grins.Â Check out some of Bella’s images and see if you agree.And hidden under those incredible eyes, is a beautiful personality!Thanks so much for playing with me, Bella!Â You were a treat to get behind my lens!

Two blondie-blondies (Tampa Children’s Photographer)

Pete has asked me before…”What is a towhead”.Â These kids…are toe-heads.Â And since I am on that subject…I found myself wondering…”why toe-head”?Â What does that mean?Â And why do blonde, little kids get called that.Â So, for your history lesson of the day:

In colonial times, families grew their own flax to make into fabric for clothing. Transforming the flax into thread was a complicated, involved process with many time-consuming steps. After the flax was harvested, it was soaked in water for several days to soften it so the inner fibers could be removed from the stalk. To separate the long, thin fibers from the shorter, coarser ones, the flax was pulled through a bed of nails or combed in a process called “towing.” The shorter fibers that were extricated were of a lesser quality and were called “tow.” This led to the term “towheads” to describe people, particularly children, whose hair resembled these strands.Â (And before reading this…I thought it was “toe-head”!Â Goes to show what I know!)
