Bella Baby…so sweet and pretty… (Tampa Baby Photographer)

This portrait session was so fun!  Not only was Bella a charm to photograph, but her mom and dad are hysterical and had me rolling.  Kelly is the type of new mom that we all wish we could be- laid back, easy going, and always smiling.  She takes it all in strides.  And Darren?  Darren laughs with Kelly (or at her, maybe?? ha!)  They have so much fun together and I know Bella is such a welcomed addition to their happy household!tampa-newborn-baby-photography-35tampa-newborn-baby-photography-33tampa-newborn-baby-photography-341tampa-baby-photographer-1I cannot wait to capture all of Bella’s milestones, Kelly and Darren (and her mommy and daddy’s, too!)  :)

ps- On a side note, thank you to everyone who came out to the Tampa Yacht Club today for the holiday bazaar!  I could not have asked for a more beautiful day!

The Beautiful L. Family (Tarpon Springs Children’s/Family Photography)

I love watching siblings interact- especially at a portrait session.  Clearly every family member has his/her own personality and I love the task of trying to capture it while we all interact together.  This portrait session was especially fun for me because I got to go to Tarpon Springs to the sponge docks.  What an awesome backdrop!  So scenic and unique (albeit a tad smelly…gotta love those fish heads!  ha!)  This was definitely a change of pace from my usual Tampa locations and I loved every minute of it!  Fraser, Noah, Sophia, and Caleb each have a story to tell; each in their own way.  tarpon-springs-childrens-and-family-photographytarpon-springs-childrens-and-family-photography-2tarpon-springs-childrens-and-family-photography-3Fraser has big plans for college and his sights are set on Alabama.  Glad you are keeping it in the SEC Fraser…but the Gators are going to smash Alabama on Saturday!  :)   You were such a trouper at our session!  Thank you!  Noah, I love how easy-going you are!  I guess being 1 of 3 brothers, you have to learn to roll with the punches (but I am sure there are never any punches thrown in this family!).  Sophia, the only girl amongst 3 brothers!  I have a feeling every future boyfriend better watch out!  And this beauty will have them beating down her door!  Caleb, you are too sweet.  I love how you let your personality shine (and for the record- I LOVED the hat!)tarpon-springs-childrens-and-family-photography-6tarpon-springs-childrens-and-family-photography-51Loved photographing you, L. Family- and especially loved photographing in Tarpon Springs.  So fun!  Thanks for the invite!

Now it is my turn….

As you may know, the past couple months have been very challenging for my family.  My Dad was in critical care in the ICU and the doctors were not too positive on the outcome of his condition.  I am thrilled to share that he is doing great- a couple minor set backs but he is alive and well, and now lives in Tampa Bay.  During all of this, I had many nights of reflective though, prayer, and questions.  My dad and I have not always been as close as I would like, but I prayed that if he got a “second chance” that it would give us the opportunity to have a relationship more like the one I always envisioned.  During his very critical phase, I started thinking about the fact that my last portraits with my dad were over 7 years ago at mine and Pete’s wedding.  And he really does not have any portraits with Ethan (yes, I am the shoe-maker with holes in my own shoes!).  I told myself that if he makes it out of this medical challenge, that I would get some portraits created of us together.  To always have and cherish.  Me and My Dad.  My Dad and his grandson.  Our family.  I asked God, PLEASE do not take him yet- I am not ready.    I wanted this.  No, I needed this.  I called my friend and amazing fellow photog, Alycia Alvarez.  I knew immediately that I wanted her to create this vision for me- with the style and class that is only Alycia.  And as I knew she would……she created exactly what I have envisioned (only better):andi09blog_002andi09blog_003andi09blog_005andi09blog_004andi09blog_0061Thank you Alycia for your amazing talent.  And thank you to all of my friends and clients who shared thoughts and prayers during the last couple months- it means more than you will ever know.  xo

Lock up your sons.. (Tampa Children/Family Photographer)

It seems like I have been photographing alot of precious little boys recently, so it was fitting that my first little girl in a while be as beautiful as Ava.  Boy, is her daddy going to be in trouble come the teen-age years!  I have been photographing Ava since she was in her mommy’s tummy and it is so amazing to me to see how she is growing like such a weed!  Just like Paige (see below), Peggy and I were sorority sisters together in ZTA at the University of Florida.  Oh, how times have changed.  We have all traded in our lavalieres for diamonds and designer jeans- it sure is fun to upgrade.  Ha!  Enjoy your images, Peggy and Tim- and GO GATORS!tampa-childrens-photographer-9tampa-family-photography-7tampa-family-photography-7atampa-childrens-photogrpher-11

Caution…future heartbreakers ahead. (Tampa Children’s Photography)

Have I mentioned how little boys melt my heart?  (see previous diary entry!)  Well, Cannon and Owen take the cake! (and despite being a devoted Nikon shooter, I think the name Cannon rocks!  ha!)  We headed to historic Ybor City for our portrait session to capture some funky and modern images.   Owen and Cannon’s Mommy, Paige, and I, went to the University of Florida together and were Zeta Tau Alpha‘s in the same pledge class.  She now has these 2 beautiful little boys, and married her college sweetheart!tampa-childrens-photogrpher-1tampa-childrens-photogrpher-3tampa-childrens-photogrpher-2tampa-childrens-photogrpher-5We wrapped our session at one of my favorite places- Marble Slab! (after all….how can ice cream get any better?  Oh yeah- mix in some more sweets!)  After a small mishap with some ice-cream ending up on the floor, the boys gobbled down their treats and off they went to baseball! tampa-childrens-photogrpher-4 Paige, so great getting to capture these images of your boys.  Looking forward to that ZTA night out!
