Sofia…all grown up!

OK, so at 18 months old Sofia is not exactly all grown up, but since I have been photographing her since she was a newborn it is amazing to see how she has grown!  She is non-stop, on-the-go, full of energy…you know- a TODDLER!  And soon she will be a big sister! (Congrats Claudine and Joe!)  Here is a sneak peak at just a few of my faves:And on a side note…quick update on the Circle of Friends trip.  It was fantastic!  We got home very late last night and I have a lot of work to catch up on.  However, I promise to post images from the rest of the trip- including a slideshow!  The kids were amazing and I am so incredibly blessed to be able to go every year!

Circle of Friends….Day 2

The weather did not participate with us today like we had hoped.  We were supposed to go tubing but due to the rainy slush the course was too “fast” and dangerous.  So, we spent the day at the hotel- which reminds me of the Wilderness Lodge at Disney!  It has this amazing waterpark inside that the kids went crazy over!  My laptop started to croak on me so I only was able to get a couple images edited from today- hopefully tomorrow it will cut me some slack and I will post some more!  If not, I promise to do it when I get home to my MAC!  But in the mean time, here is a sneak peak!

One thing that we do on the trip every year is make a heart ornament for the COF tree- all new kids and counselors.  Every year, the ornaments of the kids who have passed away get moved up to the top of the tree.  I find myself looking at the tree every year holding my breath in the hopes that none of my campers from years previous have died.  While that is very emotional, what is exciting is to see how many kids over the past 12 years are SURVIVORS!  The top section of the tree is getting smaller and the survivor section continues to grow!  I grabbed a couple images of some inspirational ornaments…and I found my own from 2001 (the Florida one).  It is always exciting to see what the kids create!

Thanks for stopping by my dairy…more from Wisconsin to come!

Circle of Friends….Day 1

Day one of the Circle fo Friends trip is exciting, exhausting…wonderful!  (Read my last diary entry to learn more about the Wunsch Family Foundation and why Pete and I are on this trip..).  All of the kids, chaperones, nurses, and NFL players from around the US spend the day traveling to get to our final destination…Wausau, WI!  We have kids who come from Tampa Bay, Atlanta area, St. Louis, Chicago, Seattle, and all over Wisconsin, several of whom have never been away from home, flown before, or ever seen snow!  It is an incredible amount of trust that the parents put into us to allow us to take their children on this trip- and we are all so thankful.  Once we arrived in Green Bay and ate lunch at Kroll’s (a Green Bay icon!), we spent some time touring Lambeau Field and the locker rooms!

A boy after my heart- LOVE the hat, Robbie! :)

It makes me so happy that Pete volunteers with me!  He is awesome and the kids love him!  (usually because he is with the teen guys and they are always getting into trouble- and he is the ring leader!)The locker room was super cool!  The kids loved it.  Too bad Brett Favre’s locker is no longer here…

Stay tuned for more updates from sunny, chilly Wisconsin!

Circle of Friends Winter Trip (Studio will be closed…)

Pete and I are leaving tomorrow for chilly Wausau, WI!  Since 2001 we have had the honor of chaperoning the winter trip with the Wunsch Family Foundation.  Our friend Jerry Wunsch started the foundation when he played in the NFL for the Bucs to help provide memorable experiences for children with cancer.  I can honestly say that I do not know who gets more out of the trip- Pete and I or the kids!  It is an amazing experience that truly makes us look differently at life, and be even more thankful for all our blessings.  This year I get to photograph the journey, too!  So…if I have time during the trip, I am going to try to blog some images of the kids.  I will be back in the studio Monday, February 15.  Feel free to e-mail me!  I will get back with you as soon as I return!

Chloe the Cutie Pie!

There was something about Chloe that I simply adored!  I think she reminded me a little bit of Ethan.  A bit shy in new situations, sweet, calm and quite (though I am sure an innner wild child lies inside! ha!), and really likes to get to know new people before she opens up.  She had such a pure, sweetness about her.
