Christmas is in the air!

I truly enjoy working with the M. family!  They are a joy to be around- it really makes my job such a blessing!  And with beautiful faces like these- what photographer would not love getting them behind their lens?I think it is safe to say that Ava might be Daddy’s little girl.  What do you think, Dina? ha!Those of you who have been in my studio lately may recognize Ava.  I have a beautiful canvas hanging of her from another session that the M. family did on location.  Like I said, I love getting this cutie behind my lens! And just look at that skin!!  Like butter (both Mommy and Ava)!  It is easy to see where Ava gets her beauty! It is always a pleasure M. family!  Thanks for allowing me to create your family’s portraits (and your Christmas cards)!  Have a wonderful Christmas!

Lovely Leah….Urban Maternity!

I LOVE maternity sessions (have I mentioned that before??!!)  And I love when clients let me take the reins and run with my creative (and sometimes off the wall!) ideas (especially when we go on location).  Leah holds a special place in my heart because she is a Child Life Specialist, which is what I was for 10 years before starting my photography business.  In case you don’t know what a Child Life Specilaist is (don’t worry- most people don’t..), we are the ones who help hospitalized children with the psychosocial aspects of hospitalization- through play and developmentally appropriate teachings.  It is an extremely rewarding career and takes a special kind of person.  My hat’s off to Leah!  Anyway (sorry…I got off on a tangent..shocking I know!).  We had a blast- and Leah let me “play” with some new ideas that I wanted to try.  I love this image- so super sexy!We were not too sure what this graffiti said, but we would like to think it said “LOVE”.  ha!Don’t mind me laying on the ground- I have a plan!  And this was it!  I know Leah was laughing at me, but I have been determined to master “sun flare” in some of my images.  It actually takes alot of practice to get it right.  I find myself walking around looking for light and light patterns all the time (I know- I need to get a life!).  I saw this when I was going for a walk today and knew I had to bring Leah back to this spot.  The light rocked!  Love that sun,  (I promise this was not something I did in post processing)….And last but not least (actually, this is one of my favorites!).  I have an obsession with cool chairs.  So when I saw this ricketedy old thing in an alley, I had to use it!  Never mind the splinters in Leah’s backside!CONGRATS Leah (and Ricky)!  Cannot wait to meet Jocelyn!  Thanks for letting me capture this special time for you!

Getting To Know Your Photographer….

OK, so I have to admit- I usually delete these e-mails when I get them. I just don’t have the time or the patience.  (And really- I don’t need the luck since I got an e-mail a few days ago saying I won $3,000,000 in the African lottery- and all I have to do is send my account number so they can transfer funds.  Sounds like a no-brainer to me, right?! ha!  So here goes- all you ever wanted to know about me (and probably alot that you did not care to know! ha!)
1. Full Name- Andrea Lynn Diamond Bennett, but I actually dropped the Lynn after I got married- and yes- Diamond is really my name!  Pretty cool huh?
2.  Do you like your handwriting?- Actually, it is horrible.  I missed my calling as an MD.  I got C’s in handwriting all in school.
3.  Do you have kids?- One amazing 2 1/2 year old son, Ethan, who is the love of our life!  And we have a pointer mix doggie- does that count?
4. If you were another person, would you be friends with you?- I hope so!  I feel like a bring alot to the friendship table (as do all of my wonderful friends!!)
5.  Do you use sarcasm alot?- No way!  (Uuuum, of course!)
6.  Do you still have your tonsils?- yes
7.  Would you bungee jump?- Heck NO! (that also goes for jumping put of a plane!)
8.  What is your favorite cereal?- Not a big cereal eater, but I usually go for Cheerios; not because they taste that great but because they are pretty healthy.
9.  Do you untie your shoes when you take them off?- Of course!
10.  Do you think you are strong?- Physically?- yes; Mentally- most of the time…
11.  Favorite ice cream?- Cold Stone coffee ice cream with Heath bar and Snickers
12. What is the first thing you notice about people?- Their teeth- I am a huge teeth person. Love a beautiful smile!
13. What was the last thing you ate?- Sushi from Yoko’s. (We went to SoHo Sushi but they were closed).
14. What are you listening to right now? My son bargaining with my husband to let him stay up!
15. Favorite smells- This is such a perfect one for me since I have a freakishly strong sense of smell! I love the smell of great perfume, clean sheets, candles- usually citrus, and Pete’s shower gel. And my son!
16. Last person I talked to to the phone- probably Kelly or Christine- and probably about photography! We need to get lives!
17. Favorite sports to watch- Gymnastics, college football (the Gators!)
18. Hair Color- Well, that is up for debate right now. It is naturally blonde but in dire need to a little “love” right now! Check back with me after I go to the salon and see Stacey on Tuesday! ha! In the mean time, I have been trying to pull off the Jessica Simpson scarf-thing on my head…not to be cool but really to hide my roots. But turns out, it actually does look kind of cute! ha!
19. Do you wear contacts? used to- but I had Lasik about 8 years ago. It rocks (but it burned like heck afterwards!) I love not wearing contacts or glasses! (Except my Chanel sunglasses. Those I wear all the time!)
20. Last movie watched- Something with Will Farrell, and we fell asleep..it was not good…
21. Favorite dessert- anything with ice-cream. In fact, I am going to get myself some right now…
22. What book are you reading right now- Embarrassed to say, I don’t really read books (Though I did read Tuesdays With Morrie a few months ago and balled my eyes out! It was a homework assignment from my brother, Darren, for his wedding. Long story.) But I read US Weekly and a million different professional photography magazines. Does that count?
23. What did you watch last night on TV?- The Rays game. Fingers crossed Tampa Bay!!
24. Favorite Sound- My son and husband laughing! It’s the best!
25. Do you have a special talent?- Humm, besides photography? I can make my hip pop out. You will have to see it to believe it!
26. Celebrity crush?- Jim (John Krazinski) from The Office and Chuck (Zachary Levi) from Chuck; both kind of goofy, hysterical, and simply adorable!
Well, I hope you enjoyed this edition of “Getting To Know Your Photographer”- or at least got a good laugh at my expense! Have a great week! :)

He has a name! And it’s……

OLIVER! How sweet is that??!!You may remember Stephanie and Paul from their maternity session- where they were referring to their baby as Pizzano- because Stephanie craved Italian throughout her pregnancy!  Well, Pizzano no more- meet Oliver!I love newborn sessions.  Something about that sweet little wrinkly (is that a real word?) skin and pure innocence!  My newborn sessions do come with fair warning though… there is a 100% chance that you will get wet!  It is inevitable!  But it’s worth is to capture moments like these!  What  beautiful family!

A Daddy and his first born…there is nothing like it!  Paul just beemed over Oliver!

And a hysterical out-take!  I had to put this one in.  Too funny!   Not everything in a newborn session is peaches and cream (though I do try to make it as relazing and fun as possible!  I promise!)  .  It’s usually pretty warm, usually pretty long, usually pretty wet, usually a little loud, usually a little strange feeling or awkard (with positioning, posing, nursing/feeding every 20 minutes or so), and always absolutely AMAZING!  CONGRATS Stephanine and Paul.  Thanks for sharing this special time with me!On a side note, for my clients who are looking for a truly stunning way to display your artwork, consider a gallery wrapped canvas!  Your image is printed directly on a canvas, then stretched over a 1.5 inch (or 2.5 inch) wooden frame, eliminating the need for a traditional frame.  It is really beautiful and timeless!  And, it is completely custom- so any size can be created- from 6×6 to 40×100, and everything inbetween!  I am getting the image below for my studio right now!  I LOVE it!

One shoe on, one shoe off….

That’s what kind of morning it was for little Mr. Trimble.  He did not want both shoes on…or both shoes off! ha!  So one on and one off is a great compromise, right? (Yes- it was a great compromise considering our first several images also included the toothbrush and toothpaste that he was determined to hold onto all morning.  And you know my philosophy- just let them be kids..shoe on or off, with or without toothbrush!  OK, well, maybe his mommy did not want toothpaste in ALL of the pictures! haha!).  Big sis Kenzie was such a trooper/baby wrangler!  She is so sweet!  I have had at least a half a dozen sessions with this family (and with mommy being pregnant I am guessing there will be more)- and I love it each and every time!  I love forming relationships with my clients and watching their family grow!  Thanks Melissa and Robbie for everything!

:) A
